CD Projekt RED Delays Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3

Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.3 has been delayed to an as-yet unspecified date, developer CD Projekt RED has revealed in a post on social media today.

The update was originally set to launch in just a few days on June 26, but CDPR has said that it needs a bit more time in the oven, and will be around the same scope as the previous patch. Here’s the full blurb:

We initially hoped to put Update 2.3 in your hands on June 26. However, we’ll need some more time to make sure we’re happy with it — we’re aiming for a scope similar to Update 2.2. We’ll update you further as soon as we can! We appreciate your patience!

Cyberpunk 2077 was originally released for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One back in December 2020, just one month after the release of Sony and Microsoft’s latest home consoles. However, the PS4 and Xbox One editions of the game were plagued by various technical issues, and CDPR would later shelled out around $125 million fixing the game as well as developing its expansion, Phantom Liberty.

CDPR is currently working on a full-blown sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, which was known as Project Orion internally, with the studio stating last month that the sequel is now in preproduction.
