Randy Pitchford Confirms Borderlands 4 Has Added An Optional Combat Radar
Borderland 4 developer Gearbox has implemented an optional combat radar following a healthy dose of feedback from the community, Randy Pitchford has revealed.
The decision to include the combat radar comes after complaints mounted over the lack of a minimap in Borderlands 4, a feature that has long been standard in the Borderlands franchise. In its place will be the combat radar, which Pitchford confirmed is ‘off’ by default.
The feature will be *off* by default at launch. And, it didn’t come on-line early enough to make it into our branch for the build we’re bringing to the Borderlands Fan Fest this weekend. But it is now officially in the game! This happened because of the best elements of our community. I’m talking about the real fans who sincerely want the best for the game and gave constructive notes and made reasonable arguments. You know who you are and you rock! You made this happen!

Pitchford revealed earlier this week that the standard edition of Borderlands 4 will retail for $69.99, and for those who feel like splashing out will be able to pump for a Deluxe Edition or Super Deluxe Edition, which include a variety of extra content. Borderlands 4 is scheduled for release on September 12, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
