Lies Of P Overture Director Confirms Team Is Looking At Player Feedback To Determine ‘Various Adjustments, Including Difficulty Reduction’

Jiwon Choi, the director behind Lies of P Overture, the DLC which dropped during Summer Game Fest last week, has revealed that the development team are currently reviewing feedback from players over the expansion, and are looking at tweaking various areas including reducing the difficulty.

Overture is notable for introducing two easier difficulty options, which for a Soulslike game was seen as somewhat controversial by some players as this type of sub-genre is meant to be tough as nails. However, Choi previously said that “we wanted to make sure a wider audience of players could play the game,” hence the introduction of the easier difficulty options.

Fans have been taking to Reddit however to voice their frustrations that Legendary Stalker, which is the intended difficulty for Lies Of P Overture, is a lot tougher than expected. However, from a new statement posted by Choi, there are more adjustments incoming:

We’re reviewing all of [the player feedback] carefully and are already looking into when to implement some of your suggestions. Among all the feedback, we are paying the closest attention to the combat experience. We identified areas that did not turn out quite as we intended. Therefore, we are reviewing various adjustments, including difficulty reduction. However, combat is one of the most fundamental experiences in Lies of P, so any modifications or changes require meticulous work and thorough testing.
