New Apple Games app offers recommendations, challenges, and leaderboards

Apple has unveiled a new dedicated Apple Games app that includes leaderboards, challenges and other features.
The iPhone giant said the app was designed to be a single destination for all of a player’s games they’ve ever played on the App Store – if they are still available.
It also aims to provide discovery for new games, recommendations tailored for specific users, and notifications on new updates and in-game events.
Social features include the ‘play together’ tab, where users can see what friends are playing, compare scores and achievements, and invite them to play games.
Challenges and leaderboards, meanwhile, offers score-based social play in which users can compete with each other for the top score.
The app also contains a dedicated tab for subscription service Apple Arcade.
Apple Intelligence
Elsewhere during WWDC25, Apple announced a new version system for iOS, skipping straight to iOS 26.
Some Apple Intelligence features were also announced, including Live Translations integrated into Messages, FaceTime and Phone, as well as the ability to ask ChatGPT questions about what they are looking at on their screens.
No mention was made of the previous delay to Apple Intelligence features on its latest devices, though Apple did instead say it had made its “first steps” in AI last year.
