MultiVersus Online Servers Close Their Doors Today As The Game Is Delisted From Storefronts
Player First Games’ brawler MultiVersus is officially shutting up shop today, as its online servers are being closed by Warner Bros. Games and the game delisted from digital storefronts including the PlayStation Store.
Online servers for MultiVersus will be closing up for good at 9.00am PST/12.00pm EST/5.00pm BST, at which point the game will also be delisted. Despite this, you can still play MultiVersus offline, but in order to do so you must have logged in at some point since February 4, 2025 and today’s shutdown.
Warner Bros. Games released the following statement on the matter:
After logging in, a local save file will be automatically created connected to your PlayStation Network, Microsoft Store, Steam, or Epic Games Store account, allowing you to enjoy the game offline with all earned and purchased content moving forward.

Following the announcement that MultiVersus would be closing its doors, some ‘fans’ decided to take to social media to abuse the game’s development team, prompting a response from game director Tony Huynh condemning people from ‘crossing the line.’
MultiVersus was released for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One in May 2024, but previously had an extensive Beta and Early Access period that ran from July 2022 to June 2023. Post-launch content supported included additional characters and stages, as well as numerous balance changes for its extensive cast. Season 5 was the final content drop for the game, which wraps today when the servers shutter.
MultiVerus combines character from a number of Warner Bros. IPs including the DC Universe, Game of Thrones, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, and more. 26 characters were available at launch, with the game ending its run on 35 fighters; Lola Bunny and Aquaman were among the final characters added to MultiVersus.
