Over the years, the game has found its way to PC, Xbox and more, and now we know that millions have flocked to the title.

That figure accounts for all the platforms the game is available on, but Square Enix hasn’t clarified just which versions of the game have been lumped together to hit the 8.5 million mark. For example, we have no idea if Square Enix is counting the sales of Dragon Quest XI on 3DS and PS4 as part of the total shipments for Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of An Elusive Age.
