My favorite gaming earbuds just got a huge glow-up, but it’s limited-edition
I could wax lyrical for hours about how much I love the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds. Comfortable design? Check. Impressive audio quality? Check. Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connections? You get the point – if you’re in the market for some gaming-focused earbuds, there are very few that can stand in the league with the GameBuds right now, and if you’re keen to grab some, SteelSeries has just dropped a new limited-edition model that makes it even more appetizing.
As far as the best earbuds go, the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds are definitely up there. While Bose, Apple, and Sony are touted as the three major players in headphones or earbuds, SteelSeries proves there’s a home in the market for gamers to enjoy, whether you’re powering through the best mobile games or enjoying your top albums on repeat.
Don’t just take my word for it, you can also take, er, my word for it, or rather, my past self (or even, past Self) – in my SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds review, I gave it a high 9/10, saying that it “[delivers] brilliant performance, incredible battery life, and a sleek design that feels comfortable.” Five months later, they’re my daily driver, and I’m regularly playing Android games with these shoved into my ears.
Unfortunately, their colorways are fairly boring, like much of the industry. You can get a sleek white or a suave black, and like a good ol’ suit-and-tie combo, it’s nice but very basic. Okay, I’m being a bit overly harsh for the sake of exaggeration, but SteelSeries has done a great job at giving the Arctis GameBuds a fresh makeover that will certainly make them stand out when paired with your gaming phone.
Internally, this new limited-edition pair isn’t anything different. You’re getting the same hardware at the same price, but the bright orange is certainly strange compared to the usual colors. It has an early 2000s vibe to it, with a slightly translucent plastic that would fit right next to that budget-friendly third-party controller you owned with a PS2.
If this design sounds like your vibe, you can grab the SteelSeries Arctic GameBuds in Glorange at the SteelSeries US and SteelSeries UK websites for $159.99 / £159.99. Once again, this is a limited-time model, so make sure you grab it before it goes out of stock. It may not suit everyone’s style, but I can finally break out that neon orange Hugo Boss hat that I bought and never wore.
After grabbing these stylish earbuds, I recommend grabbing one of our favorite mobile controllers. Personally, I can’t play many mobile games without attaching one of these bad boys to my handset, and it goes a long way into converting your phone into a handheld console-style device.
