Wooga has been hit by a number of layoffs as the developer cancelled its soft-launched title Claire’s Chronicles: Solitaire, PocketGamer.biz understands.
Around 50 staff are said to have lost their jobs, a figure backed up by social media posts on LinkedIn by current and former staff.
Impacted roles include artists, analysts, designers and producers. Wooga declined to comment on the matter.
The news comes just as the developer moved into a new Berlin office.
A number of other games companies have begun posting open job roles for impacted staff.
Cancelled soft launch
Claire’s Chronicles: Solitaire had been in soft launch since October 2024 as it looks for its next hit game.
The company’s other titles include hidden object games Pearl’s Peril and June’s Journey, the latter of which has generated more than $1 billion to date as the company’s flagship title.
