Hideo Kojima Reveals Development Of Physint Will ‘Take Me Another Five Or Six Years’
Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has revealed during an interview with Le Film Francais that Physint, one of his next planned projects at Kojima Productions, is not going to see the light of day for another five or sex years.
Kojima-san was asked if he would like to be involved in more film work in the future, and touched on the many projects he has in the pipeline, after which he’d like to try his hands at movies.
Besides Death Stranding 2, there is Physint in development. That will take me another five or six years. Maybe after that, I could finally decide to tackle a film. I grew up with cinema. Directing would be a kind of homage to it. Besides, I’m getting older, and I would prefer to do it while still young.

Physint was officially announced during January 2024’s State of Play broadcast, and last month Kojima revealed that it will form phase 2 of Kojima Productions following Death Stranding 2 and Project OD. He also admitted during this time that he didn’t know if his next project after Physint would be a movie or a game.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is pencilled in for June 26, 2025 release on PS5. Speaking in the latest issue of EDGE magazine, Kojima touched on how the upcoming sequel feels similar to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in various ways.
