Take-Two On Grand Theft Auto VI Delay: ‘We Support Fully Rockstar Games Taking Additional Time To Realise Their Creative Vision’
Following news that Grand Theft Auto VI has been postponed to May 2026, Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two, has saids the publishing giant is fully behind Rockstar Games’ decision to delay the game, and still anticipates record revenue this year.

Grand Theft Auto VI is now scheduled for release on May 26, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier posted on BlueSky earlier today regarding the delay, stating that none of the Rockstar individuals he spoke to believed that the Fall 2025 would happen, and that a delay had ‘seeming inevitable for months.’
Gran Theft Auto VI focuses on newcomers Lucia and her male partner-in-crime, and centres the action in the fictional U.S. state of Leonida, which is based on Florida. This area also contains the fan-favourite Vice City, which as previously depicted in the 1980s-set GTA: Vice City and Vice City Stories.
