AEW Collision: Playoff Palooza
From the Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana with Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness on commentary.
Swerve and Prince Nana are here, but before anything.. The Young Bucks want Swerve to shut up, and they tell Swerve they pulled some strings, and his match starts… now! Swerve is in a shirt and jeans, by the way.
Match #1. Swerve Strickland vs. Blake Christian
Springboard dropkick to the back of the head by Swerve, after Johnson trips him up. Fosbury Flop by Christian takes Swerve out on the outside. The Bucks are sitting in director chairs at the top of the ramp, by the way. Swerve reverses an Irish whip but only momentarily, as Christian regains control and both guys fight on the apron. Enziguiri by Christian but Swerve comes back with a neckbreaker through the middle rope. Diving European uppercut to the back by Swerve. Jumping Housecall by Swerve after Christian misses a 450. Big Pressure ends this one.
Winner: Swerve Strickland
Rating: **. More storyline than match, but Christian got in enough offense to make it competitive.
After the match, Swerve is distracted by the Young Bucks as Lee Johnson attacks him from behind. BTE Trigger to Swerve! Before it’s a Meltzer Drive, the music hits and…
Kenny Omega is here to make the save! Snap dragon to both Bucks but they escape before it’s a V-Trigger Party.
Samoa Joe is here and he is an inevitability, Jon Moxley. There’s nothing anything Moxley or any of his Riders can do about it.
Match #2. AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator: Toni Storm (c) w/ Luther vs. Queen Aminata
Shoulder block and a hip toss by Aminata. Storm now with a reversal and a shoulder block of her own. The fight spills to the apron where Amianta introduces Storm to her… posterior. Running PK off the apron and we got a commercial. Back from commercial as Aminata charges but Storm counters with a Thesz Press. Forearms in the corner by Storm and an avalanche. DDT by Storm! Storm decides against the cover and turns into the STF. Aminata fights to get to the bottom rope and barely does. Amianta counters a Low Down with a victory roll for two. Aminata drop toe holds Storm into the middle turnbuckle and CRUSHES her face with a Broski Boot. Storm rolls to the outside and Aminata follows. Storm has a bloody nose now, by the way. Aminata tries to charge but Storm drop toe holds her into an unfolded chair at ringside. Storm looks for the running hip attack up against the guard rail but Aminata moves, well, maybe she didn’t? Storm rolls her in the ring and comes off the top with a cross body block for two. Beach Break out of nowhere by Aminata gets two. Low Down by Storm! Two count. Swinging fisherman’s neckbreaker by Aminata. Two count. Storm ducks under a clothesline and connects with a German suplex. Running hip attack! Storm Zero finishes this one.
Winner: Toni Storm
Rating: ***. Aminata was a formidable opponent here, but there was zero chance she was losing this one.
Lexy Nair is in the back with Jay Lethal, Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh, and Karen Jarrett. Wow, I forgot about these guys Sonjay Dutt shows up and Lethal says he’s tired of sitting on the sidelines. Jeff tells Karen that he’s listening to the wrong people, and Lethal says he’s got the ideas now.
Max Caster is here. Who can survive, the best wrestler alive? Apparently, Hologram.
Match #3. Max Caster vs. Hologram
Spinning back kick by Hologram and a tieres. Spanish Fly by Hologram and a vicious suicide dive drives Caster into the LED board. Hologram misses a 450 but he doesn’t miss the Portal Bomb.
Winner: Hologram
Rating: NR.
Not wasting any time tonight, as we get right to our next match!
Match #4. Texas Tornado Tag: CRU vs. Top Flight
Brawl to start, as there are no rules in this one. CRU goes underneath the ring early to a pair of kendo sticks. Assisted neckbreaker by Rush and Andretti. Two count. Stunner by Rush to Dante, and he holds on, as Andretti opens up the black bag of doom and it’s… Mardi Gras beads!? Rush is perplexed and Dante plants Rush on the beads with a side out side effect. Darius sets rush up on an unfolded chair, but Andretti throws Dante to the floor. Drop toe hold on the chair by Rush and Andretti dropkicks his face. Double suplex on the unfolded chair and that was a tough landing. Two count. Rush wraps a chain around his hand but Leyla Grey grabs it. Darius throws a garbage can at Rush and connects, but Andretti pushes Darius and Grey get gets knocked off the apron, causing a distraction. Bottom rope assisted Stunner by Rush, Argentine TKO by Andretti, Rush Hour, and a springboard 450! One, two, three!
Winners: CRU
Rating: ***. Fine plunder match here, with CRU getting a big win and hopefully putting an end to this fued.
Match #5. Anna Jay vs. Taylor Gainey
Running back elbow and a high kick by Jay. Noshigami. Finito.
Winner: Anna Jay
Rating: NR
Megan Bayne’s music hits but Penelope Ford jumps Jay from behind. Ford holds Jay in place as Bayne gets to the ring. Fate’s Descent by Bayne!
Mercedes says Double or Nothing holds a special place in her heart, as that’s where she won the belt last year.
Match #6. ROH World Heavyweight Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Dralistico
Big plancha by Dralistico early as both guys are on the apron now. Shots exchanged back and forth but Dralistico dives off the apron with a hurricanrana but he doesn’t get all of it, just enough to pull Bandido off the apron. Dralistico seems shaken up as the referee and the doctor’s are looking him over, so we go to commercial. We’re back and Bandido drills Dralistico with a dropkick to the face. Fosbury Flop! Bandido rolls Dralistico in the ring and coms off the top with a frog splash. Both guys trade shots now and Dralistico comes back with a corkscrew kick for two. Crucifix Bomb by Dralistico! Rough landing for both guys but Bandido pops back up and drills him with a PK. Both guys head up top now, with Bandido looking for an avalanche powerbomb. Draslistico counters with a hurricanrana and a springboard Code Breaker! Two count. Dralistico cherges Bandido in the corner but Bandido sends him up and over with a reverse powerbomb into the buckles. 21 Plex by Bandido! That does it.
Winner and STILL Ring of Honor World Champion: Bandido
Rating: ***1/4. Bandido rules but… what did Dralistico do to earn a title shot?
Big Bill and Keith are here. Jericho ain’t coming back, but it’s time they crack skulls and make him proud.
Match #7. Rush vs. AR Fox
Avalanche in the corner by Rush, as he stomps the shoulder and neck of Fox. Rush does Rush things with Fox around the ringside area. Rush fakes Bulls Horns and punts Fox. Fox. Tranquiloooo! Enziguiri by Foex. Rush rolls to the outside and Fox flies over the top! Back in the ring, swanton by Fox! One, two, no! Flying forearm by Rush. Bulls Horns. That’ll do it.
Winner: Rush

Roppongi Vice are back and they’re tired of being insulted. Rocky Romero runs into The OutRunners and they get stomped out.
Match #8. FTR w/ Stokely Hathaway vs. The Paragon
Roundhouse kick by Kyle to Dax and Roddy clotheslines him over the top. Backbreaker by Roddy and a diving knee by Kyle! Tw count. Kyle grabs an ankle lock on Dash but Dax pulls him to the floor. Spicy dropkick by Roddy as we go to commercial. Back from break and FTR are doing a number on The Paragon outside the ring, bouncing both guys off the steel steps. Kyle is in trouble, as Roddy has gotten dumped on the far side and Dax and Cash made quick tags, keeping Kyle in trouble. Roddy pulls himself up to his feet, but Dax rolls Cash in and makes sure to tag himself. Kyle gets free and tags Roddy! Roddy clears the ring with flying clotheslines, working off on one leg! Double leg by Dax and he uses the ropes for leverage but only gets two Gutbuster by Roddy! Chicken wing backbreaker by Roddy to Cash! Dax pulls Roddy out of the ring and wraps his leg around the ringpost, before locking in the figure-four! Dax breaks at five and the damage is done. Inside the ring, Dax locks in another figure four, this one in the center of the ring. Kyle beaks it up with a knee drop from the top! Kyle gets the tag and lays in some leg kicks to Dax. Dax and Kyle mirror each other hold for hold, until Kyle dives on the ankle lock. Cash comes off the top to break up the hold! FTR looks for the spike piledriver and they get it! One, two, three.
Winners: FTR
Rating: ***3/4. These guys never cease to put on a show when they get in the ring together, and this was no exception. Would have loved to see Paragon get the win here, but FTR are both dirty rotten scoundrels, as well as great wrestlers.
Shatter Machine to Roddy after the bell. Cole is here but FTR corner him.. Daniel Gacia’s music hits and he makes the save!
