KLab’s gacha game Bleach: Brave Souls has surpassed 100 million installs globally shortly before its 10th anniversary.

After first launching on mobile in Japan in July 2015, the title expanded globally in 2016 and broadened from mobile to PC in 2020. A console release followed in 2022.

The 100m installs figure has been achieved based on downloads over all available platforms. At least 25% of those installs have taken place in the past two years.

Building the Bleach brand

Bleach: Brave Souls is set in Tite Kubo’s Bleach universe and has long formed a part of the series’ transmedia expansion from manga to anime to games.

While combining RPG mechanics and beat ‘em up gameplay, its gacha banners have seen new characters and seasonal alts added regularly since 2015 – incentivising continued player spending for a chance at obtaining the latest characters with premium currency.

The title also now has a web shop with discounts encouraging players away from the in-game shop and its associated mobile fees.

Having successfully reached 100m installs, KLab is celebrating by giving players 10 free summons per day for 10 days – meaning 100 summons for those who log in regularly.

“Thank you for playing Bleach: Brave Souls,” the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account posted.

“Bleach: Brave Souls has been downloaded more than 100 million times worldwide. We hope you continue to enjoy the game.”

A 10th anniversary stream is also scheduled for April 19th, 2025.

Meanwhile, KLab’s more recent Bleach-related release, casual mobile game Bleach Soul Puzzle, has just celebrated its six-month anniversary. The title also leverages many familiar faces for series fans, but in this case with match-3 gameplay.
