Supersonic from Unity has surpassed 6.2 billion downloads in five years since launching its mobile game publishing solution, according to AppsFlyer data.

The publisher said that between January and October 2024, it averaged 190 million monthly active users between January and October 2024.

Supersonic was ranked as the fifth largest mobile games publisher by downloads globally last year, according to data.ai, just behind Tencent, Azur, Onesoft, and SayGames. When including all mobile app publishers, it ranked as eighth.

In 2024, Supersonic said it had three games – Build a Queen (second), Going Balls (sixth), and Bridge Race (ninth) – in the top 10 most downloaded hypercasual games globally, and seven titles in the top 50.

Across all genres, Build a Queen ranked as the 13th most downloaded game, while Going Balls charted at 24th and Bridge Race hit 28th.

“Hybrid games soared”

Breaking down the data on its games, Supersonic said its partnership with Funcell Games for hybridcasual title Trash Tycoon saw it generate a 45% revenue split, over 50% day one retention, and an average playtime of 167 minutes by day seven.

Elsewhere, Chinese studio EOGames also partnered with Supersonic on pin puzzle title Screw Master 3D, achieving a 45% day one retention rate, 15% day 30 retention, and an 18% IAP revenue split on Android in the US.

“Every year brings its own milestones, and for us, 2024 was the year our hybrid games soared,” said Supersonic VP of revenue Igor Bereslavski. “Titles like Trash Tycoon and Screw Master are  great examples of what happens when talented developers meet cutting-edge technology.

“Over the past year, we’ve grown in remarkable ways, welcoming talented new team members with expertise such as creative development, data analysis, and production. Meanwhile, our technological advancements have seen innovations such as  multiplayer capabilities and sophisticated level analytics.

“I’m especially proud of our legacy titles, such as Build a Queen and Going Balls, which continue to thrive, delight players, and drive lasting success.

“None of this would be possible without the incredible trust and collaboration of our developer partners. We’re grateful to have the opportunity to work alongside them, transforming together their mobile games into enduring hits.”
