Originally released back in 2002 for the PS2 and Xbox, The Thing Remastered boasts a number of key upgrades for modern platforms, including support for up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS. Meanwhile, Nightdive Studios has spruced up the game’s character models textures, and animations, with 3D rendering offering greatly improved lighting and atmospheric effects.
The Thing Remastered sees players stepping into the role of United States Army Special Forces rescue team leader Captain J.F. Blake, who is dispatched to Outpost #31 to investigate the events that transpired during the 1982 John Carpenter film, The Thing. Trapped in frozen conditions and stalked by the mysterious shape-shifting alien that wiped out the crew of the outpost in the movie, Blake must ensure the safety of his squad by earning their trust and avoid succumbing to fear and the threat of the aline entity.
