Nintendo reveals hanafuda motif product line

Nintendo may be world-renowned for their videogame business, but they got their start making hanafuda cards all the way back in 1889. 136+ years later, Nintendo is still making hanafuda decks, but now the Big N is combining both worlds for a new line of products.

Nintendo has revealed a line of merch that includes hanafuda card motifs. The line features artwork you can find on hanafuda decks Nintendo currently sells, and that obviously includes all sorts of videogame characters. You’ll a ton of familiar faces on these items, ranging from Mario and Yoshi to Bowser and Princess Peach.

As for the line itself, it includes items such as towels, glasses, shirts, bags and more. For now, these items are only being sold through Nintendo TOKYO/KYOTO/OSAKA locations, but hopefully they’ll become available worldwide sometime in the near future. To get a better look at the entire lineup, check out the merch gallery here.
