Assassin’s Creed Shadows Preorders Are ‘Tracking Solidly,’ Says Ubisoft
Speaking during its latest financial results overnight, Ubisoft has revealed that preorders for Assassin’s Creed Shadows are “solid” and “in line with those of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, the second most successful entry of the franchise.”
Ubisoft boss Yves Guillemot revealed that “early previews have been positive” for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. “I want want to commend the incredible talent and dedication of the entire Assassin’s Creed’s team, who is working tirelessly to ensure that Shadows delivers on the promise of what is the franchise’s most ambitious entry yet.”

“In parallel, we are progressing well on our cost reduction program. We plan to pursue our efforts in FY26, going beyond the initial target by a significant margin.”
Earlier this week, the creative director on Assassin’s Creed Shadows said that players aren’t really missing out if they decide to focus on playing as one character. Meanwhile, it has been revealed that the Japanese version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows is being censored to remove some of its more graphic content.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is scheduled for release on March 20, 2025 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, having originally been slated to appear in November. The game was then pushed to February 2025, but Ubisoft delayed it a second time for additional polish.
