It Takes Two creator has no idea what’s going on with the movie adaptation

It Takes Two has been an astronomical success for EA and Hazelight, selling over 20 million copies worldwide, and that total keeps ticking upwards. Long before that figure was reached, Hollywood came knocking to turn the game into a film, with The Rock involved in some manner, and the Sonic the Hedgehog duo of Pat Casey and Josh Miller writing. It’s been years since that announcement, so what’s going on with the project? Seems like a whole bunch of nothing.

In an interview with Eurogamer, Hazelight founder Josef Fares was asked for a status update on the It Takes Two movie, and it seems like things have gone stagnant. According to Fares, there’s been plenty of talk about making it happen, but not much in the way of action.

“Hollywood, there’s so much bullshit. I think 90 percent of the meetings are actually bullshit, and ten percent are what actually happens.

The thing is, there’s a lot of talk, but not a lot of walk. I don’t know what’s going on. Hopefully something. It would be cool to get something out of it, but my hopes are not so high. Obviously, there’s a lot of talk, but you have to have the people that get shit done.

If I would be really involved in it, it would happen. I just need a couple of months in LA, and I’ll make it happen. I don’t have the time… but, I would make shit happen. That’s my job.”
