Original Pokémon theme song singer releases new “Umbreon ex” single

Jason Paige will forever hold a place in the hearts of Pokémon fans here in America. Paige is the singer behind the original Pokémon anime theme, which many still consider to be the unofficial theme song for the Pokémon brand as a whole. It’s an unforgettable tune that kickstarted the franchise here in America, and it’s one that still holds up to this day.

While it’s been quite some time since Paige has been officially tied to the Pokémon franchise, that doesn’t mean he’s not aware of what’s going on with it. Paige is always keeping an eye on what’s up with the world of Pokémon, and that includes keeping tabs on the trading card side of things. Turns out a recent release in that branch of Pokémon has spurred on some creativity in the singer, who has just put out a brand-new tune honoring a specific card.

Above you can watch Paige’s music video titled “Sunbreon,” which is what many in the Pokémon community have nicknamed the Umbreon ex card from the Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions expansion. This pack just saw release on Jan. 17th, 2025, so Paige has worked incredibly quickly to put together his musical tribute!
