Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment president David Haddad is stepping down after 12 years in the role.
As reported by Variety, Haddad will remain with Warner Bros. for the next three months as the company looks for his replacement.
His departure comes after a tough period for Warner Bros. The release of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League led to a $200 million loss, while the free-to-play fighter MultiVersus struggled despite retooling, causing another $100 million hit.
Although Hogwarts Legacy was a financial success in 2023, the follow-up title, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, failed to meet expectations, adding to the publisher’s challenges.
A smooth transition
“I am so proud of everything we’ve accomplished together at Warner Bros. Games during my time with the company,” Haddad said. “It has been an absolute pleasure working on and building our iconic gaming franchises, and I will continue to be an enthusiastic supporter of this talented team’s future endeavours.
“I look forward to working on the next chapter of my career and will always be grateful for my time with Warner Bros. Games.“
Warner’s global streaming and games president, JB Perrette, said that Haddad chose to leave during a quieter release period to ensure a smooth transition and minimal disruption to ongoing projects, allowing the team to focus on their next big game.
The company reportedly has no plans to sell off the games division and is currently focused on filling Haddad’s role.
