DOOM: The Dark Ages Release Date Seems To Have Leaked, Set To Arrive May 2025

DOOM: The Dark Ages is the next mainline entry in id Software’s rebooted DOOM franchise, and it’ll also be one of the game’s featured during Xbox’s upcoming Developer Direct event for 2025.

We know that it is currently set to release on PS5 and other current-gen platforms at some point this year, so it’s reasonable to expect that we could likely get a release date reveal at Thursday’s event.

Unfortunately for Xbox, that release date seems to have already leaked, spoiling the surprise that we’ll be able to jump into DOOM: The Dark Ages on May 15, 2025.

Spotted by Wario64, an article from Gamekult, which has since been taken down, revealed the release date. It was likely that this article was meant to go live on Thursday, along with the event, but it was instead spotted in the website’s RSS feed early.

Alongside DOOM: The Dark Ages, Xbox’s upcoming Developer Direct event will feature South of Midnight from Compulsion Games, developer Sandfall Interactive will showcase their game, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a fourth, secret game will be shown.

That final unannounced title however may have also been leaked, with a number of leaks regarding an Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake popping up in the last two weeks.

Of course we can’t say for sure that’ll be the surprise game, but the timing of the leaks and the event do make it an obvious suspect.
