A Dead Space 4 Proposal From Glen Schofield Was Reportedly Turned Down By EA
Speaking with Dan Allen Gaming, three members of the original Dead Space development team including Glen Schofield revealed that Electronic Arts turned down a proposal from them to make Dead Space 4.
Schofield commented, “We tried actually, you know, the three of us year, we tried Dead Space 4.” Christopher Stone, who served as animation director, added, “All three of us sat down and wanted to do it.” Bret Robbins, creative director on Dead Space, also participated in the chat.
Well we didn’t go too deep, they just said no, we’re not interested right now, we appreciate it, blah blah blah, and you know, we know who to talk to, so we didn’t go take it any further, and we respected their opinion you know, they know their numbers and what they have to ship and all that.

The industry is in a weird place right now,. People are really hesitant to take chances on things, so you’ve got to you know, take it with a grain of salt, who knows, maybe one day, I think we’d all love to do it.
Dead Space returned after a 10-year hiatus back in 2023 with a critically acclaimed remake of the original title. Jeff Grubb later claimed that a Dead Space 2 Remake was cancelled at EA due to lacklustre sales of the first remake, but the publisher was quick to shoot down these claims. A Bloomberg report stated that ideas were thrown around for a new Dead Space but quickly fizzled out, putting the series on ice once more.
