A Fourth Sonic Film Is Coming With A Release Target Of 2027
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is in theatres this coming Friday for fans to go check out, and those same fans will have another reason to head to theatres in another three years, because a fourth Sonic the Hedgehog film has been announced.
Confirmed by a report from Variety, the next film in the growing Sonic Cinematic Universe (SCU) is scheduled to arrive sometime in 2027, though of course that date isn’t exactly set in stone since a lot could change from now until then.
At least for now it remains a release target, and something for fans to look forward to. And what better news to have going into this weekend’s release for fans to immediately speculate on what’ll be happening next time.
Back when the Sonic films first began, it was the first notable time that we’d had a video game-to-movie adaptation that was both an entertaining film for fans, and commercially successful.
It’s a huge stepping stone towards the stronger adaptations we’ve gotten since across film and TV, and it’s great to see the series still go strong.
