Warhammer 40,000 TV Series Is Coming To Prime Video, Features Henry Cavill As Executive Producer
Amazon Prime Video is officially moving forward with its TV series based on Warhammer 40,000, and what’s more, it’ll feature Henry Cavill in both a starring role and as executive producer. Amazon MGM Studios previously snapped up the global rights to the Warhammer 40K IP two years ago, but it’s only now that gears are in motion for the project.
According to sources at Deadline, a show runner for the Warhammer 40,000 TV series hasn’t been confirmed yet, but revealed a mini-room was recently assembled to pin down a creative direction for the Warhammer universe, which resulted in a decision to push toward with the Prime Video show.
Cavill should be well-known to gamers as he’s a big fan of gaming himself, and has previously starred in the TV adaptation of The Witcher as Geralt (although is role has since been taken over by Liam Hemsworth). Speaking on Instagram, the Superman actor commented:

My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world. Together, we’ve been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop.
At this point there’s no further details as the show has only just got off the ground, but it’s encouraging to see Cavill having such a big role in its production, so hopefully it’ll do the series justice.
