The Witcher 4 Will Be ‘Better, Bigger, Greater Than The Witcher 3,’ Says CDPR’s VP Of Technology
Charles Tremblay, the Vice President of Technology for Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt RED, has revealed during an interview with Eurogamer that The Witcher 4 (not its official title) is not going to be any less ambitious due to the change in tech, promising to deliver a ‘better, bigger, and greater’ sequel than The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt.
While he couldn’t go into much detail about the next chapter in the fantasy-RPG franchise, but did briefly its ambitious for the title and the fact it aim to do better than previous efforts, seemingly referring to the poor launch of Cyberpunk 2077.
Again, I will not say it’s easy, but I think that we have some cool stuff going, and hopefully that will have some good showcase [of the technology]. The only thing I will say is that changing the tech for us does not change the fact that we always will be ambitious. And the next game we do will not be smaller, and it will not be worse. So it will be better, bigger, greater than The Witcher 3, it will be better than Cyberpunk – because for us, it’s unacceptable [to launch that way]. We don’t want to go back.

CD Projekt RED recently announced that The Witcher 4 has entered full production, although the project is still obviously a long way off from release. Back in July, the studio revealed that the game is ‘the most advanced‘ out of its current slate of upcoming releases, and now that it’s in full production, it is surely going to arrive before the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel (we already know it’s coming before The Witcher Remake).
