CD Projekt RED Confirms The Witcher 4 Has Now Entered Full-Scale Production
The next chapter in The Witcher franchise, known as Project Polaris, has officially entered full-scale production, developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed during its third quarter report today.
Speaking in a brief statement, CDPR’s joint-CEO, Michal Nowakowski, commented:
I’m proud to confirm that several weeks ago the Polaris team wrapped up preproduction and moved on to full-scale production – the most intensive phase of development. We are very pleased with our progress on this project, and I wish to thank the team for its dedication.

The announcement that the game has entered full production comes only a few months after CDPR said that the new Witcher game was on the verge of leaving pre-production, with over 400 people currently involved on the highly anticipated title. While very little is known about The Witcher 4 yet, other than it’s the start of a new trilogy, Doug Cockle, the voice actor behind Geralt of Rivia, has confirmed that his character will feature in the game — but it he won’t be the main focus.
A release date for The Witcher 4 has yet to be announced, but given it’s only just entered production, it’s still years away at this point. In addition to this game, CDPR is also working on a full remake of The Witcher, which will be powered by Unreal Engine 5. Don’t expect this game for a good while though, as it’s not going to come out until after The Witcher 4.
