AEW Collision 11/9/24
From the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island! Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness are on the call and we’re starting with a big trios match!
Match #1. The House of Black vs. The Iron Savages
Brody King and Boulder start. Brody with a double chop and Boulder wants to bail… quickly. Nobody will tag in though, so he sips some Savage Sauce and… eats a lariat. Avalanche in the corner by Brody, big boot by Black, and a rising knee by Matthews. Matthews misses a corner charge and Jameson gets the tag, but he gets kneed in the face, stomach, and then PK’d by Black. Black foot sweeps Bronson on to Jameson in a north/south position and then King hits a big senton. Suicide dive by Brody takes out everyone! Black Mass to Boulder. Jackhammer by Matthews to Bronson. Pop-up double knees by Matthews and Black. Three Headed Monster in the corner. Finito.

Malakai Black grabs the mic but the lights go out, and here’s FTR. FTR don’t want a fight tonight, but they’re here for business. Dax says he’s put the AEW World Tag Team Championship above everything in his life, and nothing changes, except for the obstacles. On the back of FTR and House of Black, they’ve all built Collision. The first time on Dynamite, FTR vs. House of Black. The only question is… who’s it going to be? Brody King and Malakai Black step forward.
Swerve Strickland vs. Bobby Lashley is official for Full Gear.
Lio Rush says he’s heating up, and he’s about to be on fire. Rush says he wants to feel greater, and he wants to feel alive again.. so he’s calling out Swerve for next week! The Man of the Hour is back around.
Match #2. Top Flight vs. The OutRunners
Darius Martin and Truth Magnum to start. Flying shoulder block by Darius and Truth responds with a shoulder block of his own. Turbo Floyd gets the tag as does Dante Martin. Snap suplex by Floyd and an elbow drop. Dante goes over the turnbuckle twice and rolls up Floyd for two. Shoulder block by Dante and Darius gets another tag. Reverse atomic drop and a double atomic drop by Magnum and Floyd. Magnum tries to mount and deliver some punches in the corner but gets hot shot on the top rope. Senton from the apron by Darius as we come back from commercial break… with Private Party sitting on the top of the ramp. Darius sends Truth into a boot from Dante. Diving elbow drop by Dante gets two. Truth gets dumped to the outside, right at the feet of Grey, and Dariu follows up with a suicide dive. Dante is upset as Darius for bringing the violence near Leila Grey, allowing Truth to make the tag. Floyd clears the ring with right hands and a big body slam to Dante. One to Darius. Floyd body slams Truth on to Darius. Double elbow drop by The OutRunners! Enziguiri by Dante and a rising knee. Darius tags himself in and delivers a bulldog through the ropes. Pump kick by Darius gets two. Floyd saves Magnum from a double suplex and takes Darius over the top and to the floor. Dante and Floyd are alone in the ring, and Floyd is Floyd-ing up! Dante tries to leap up and over but Magnum catches him, and here’s Floyd… Total Recall! One, two, three!
Winners: The OutRunners
Rating: **3/4. Absolutely awesome. The OutRunners have been MADE by the fans, and they’re getting a chance to shine. Fun match here, and the Top Flight dissention is in full.. gear.
The Acclaimed are here in the back and they change LFI for next week in Albany on Dynamite. Caster is in the middle of asking LFI where their balls are, and here’s MVP with The Hurt Syndicate. MVP wants to know when they’re going to take themselves seriously. Bowens gets upset and storms off, but MVP knows Caster still has the card.
Match #3. Roderick Strong vs. The Beast Mortos
Strong browbeats Mortos, who responds with a clothesline. Headbutt by Mortos but he runs into a big boot in the corner. Strong hits the ropes and Mortos is there with a huge pop-up Samoan drop! Two count as we go to commercial. Backbreaker by Mortos now, who looks to lock in a double armbar. Strong frees himself and fires in three running elbows that finally drop Mortos. Strong wants the Olympic Slam but the back is hurt, so he settles for a Sick Kick. Mortos counters with a powerbomb on to the knee and a big discus lariat. Strong is out at two! Mortos is hearing some voices in his head, which allows Strong to counter with the jumping knee to the face. One, two, three!
Winner: Roderick Strong
Rating: **1/2. This match was a heck of a lot quicker than I thought it would be, but it’s leading to Strong and or Cole vs. MJF at the PPV. Poor Mortos.
After the match, Lance Archer hits the ring and plants him with the Blackout!
Mariah May says she used to love women’s wrestling, but now she can’t stand it. It’s filled with arrogant little sh*ts, and she wants to stand on the neck of other women to make her name. Mariah May wants to be the one kill women’s wrestling.
Anna Jay is here with Lexy Nair and she wants Mariah May. She also believes she will choke her out until she pisses herself. Interesting. Jay wants a No DQ match and if she doesn’t win… she won’t challenge her for the championship ever again.
Match #4. Kris Statlander vs. Ashley Vox
Fireman’s carry by Statlander. Staturday Night Fever. Finito.
Winner: Kris Statlander
Rating: NR
Mercedes is here and she hits the Backstabber on Statlander! Mone Maker is now locked in and Statlander is tapping as the referee’s try to break it up.
Jake Roberts is here with LFI in the back. Rush wonders what’s wrong with Mortos. Rush says that the UE might be Mortos friend, but LFI are family. Jake Roberts says that The Acclaimed are squirrels trying to find a nut, and Rush reminds us that if you mess with the bull, you’ll get the horns.
Match #5. AEW TNT Championship: Jack Perry (c) vs. Action Andretti
Perry quickly takes the fight to the outside where he throws Andretti into the steel steps, before atomic dropping him on it. Back in the ring and Perry runs through Andretti with a big body block. Two count. Back from commercial and Andretti connects with a Falcon Arrow for a long two. Perry heads to the apron and pulls Andretti out with him. Perry wants a back suplex on the apron but instead, engages in a chop fest. Andretti charges right into an elbow, but Andretti rebounds with a Death Valley Driver on the apron! Springboard 450! One, two, no! Andretti Split-legged moonsault but Andretti lands on his feet. Perry charges right into a Spanish Fly! One, two, no! Perry comes back with a running buckle bomb and follows up with a brainbuster! Two count. Perry misses a Regal Knee and Andretti rolls him up for two. Springboard enziguiri by Andretti for two. Running Shooting Star Press but Perry gets the knees up. Running knee from Perry. Another one. That’ll do it.
Winner and STILL AEW TNT Champion: Jack Perry
Rating: ***. Nice little match here, probably one of Andretti’s best showings in a single’s match.
Daniel Garcia is here, and he tells Perry he’s nothing like him. Perry acts hard, but he’s a multi-millionaire nepo-baby. Garcia wants Perry at Full Gear and Perry accepts.. but tells Garcia he isn’t ready.
A video package for Juliya Hart is shown. Very Nightmare on Elm Street-like package here, with Hart’s new persona killing her old, cheerleader one.
Wayne is on the tron before the match and tells us that it’s an important day, as it’s the anniversary of Fox’s dad’s death.
Match #6. Nick Wayne w/ Kip Sabian & Mama Wayne vs. AR Fox
Fox with a suicide dive as Wayne walks down the apron and here we go! Huge plancha over the top on the far side of the ring now by Fox. Wayne drop toe holds Fox into the steel steps and takes control. Fox with an Irish whip into the guard rail and a follow up big boot. Springboard attempt by Fox but Wayne swipes the legs out. DDT on the floor by Wayne! Back inside the ring, Wayne slingshots Fox underneath the bottom rope as we go to commercial. Senton from the apron by Fox and a follow up somersault plancha to the floor. Fox goes up top… Swanton Bomb! Two count. Fox thinks about a package piledriver but Wayne fights out with a forearm and a kick to the head. Fox responds with an enziguiri. Rolling Thunder Cutter attempt by Fox but Wayne freezes, grabs a Full Nelson, and drills Fox with a Dragon suplex with a bridge! Two count. Wayne sets Fox up on the top rope and wants an avalanche Dragon suplex, but Fox blocks it and sends Wayne to the canvas. Fox backflips off the top and rolls through with a basement cutter and a double underhook gutwrench powerbomb! That was bananas. Two count. Fox runs into a boot in the corner but catches Wayne with a Spanish Fly from the top. Sabian provides a distraction and Fox misses a 450 splash. Snap dragon suplex by Wayne. Double underhook Destroyer by Wayne! That’ll do it.
Winner: Nick Wayne
Rating: ***1/2. Excellent stuff here, and two guys you don’t see getting a lot of TV time lately. Wayne is going to be a huge star very soon, and Fox can do business with anyone. Really good TV match.
After the match, Nick Wayne has a picture of AR Fox’s father and he staples it to Fox’s face!
MxM Collection are with Lexy Nair. MxM tried to slide into Johnny TV’s DMs and add him to a trios match, but TV already has a match for next week.
Match #7. AEW World Trios Championship: Death Riders (c) vs. The Conglomeration
Yuta tries to slug it out with Ishii for some reason, and that doesn’t work. Ishii drops Yuta and tags Kyle, who gets in a few shots before Mark Briscoe gets the tag. Suplex by Mark gets one. Briscoe wants another suplex but Yuta gets free and back him up into his corner. Pac gets the tag and introduces Briscoe to some turnbuckles. Quick tags by DR now, grounding Briscoe in their corner. European uppercut in the corner by Claudio and Yuta is back in. Hard chops by DR but Briscoe fights back with some redneck kung fu and a clothesline by Ishii from the apron. Briscoe sends Pac over the top and to the floor as Briscoe follows up with a huge dive off a chair in the ring and to the floor. Ishii and Kyle lay into Yuta with chops and round kicks. Two count. as Kyle transitions into a straight armbar, but Pac breaks it up and grounds and pounds Kyle. Running European uppercut in the corner by Claudio and some hard hammer throws by Pac. Backbreaker by Claudio and a diving double stomp by Pac. Two count. Kyle tries to fight back against Pac but the rest of the DR take out the Conglomeration on the apron and it’s a triple team in the ring. Tombstone by Pac! Briscoe breaks up the pin. Kyle is in trouble now, as all the DR take turns making quick tags and beating on him in the far corner. Yuta grabs a waist lock but Kyle rolls through for an ankle lock. Yuta cradles Kyle for a two and both guys drop each other with lariats. Ishii gets the tag, as does Pac. German suplex by Ishii to Pac! To Yuta! To Claudio! Chop and elbow combo to Pac in the corner. Pac and Ishii trade suplex attempts, with Ishii getting the better of it with a big brainbuster. Two count! Jawbreaker by Pac and Briscoe gets a tag. Pele kick to Claudio. T-Bone suplex to Pac. Fisherman’s buster to Claudio but Briscoe only gets two. Claudio back body drops his way out of a Jay Driller and Yuta gets the tag. Kyle makes a blind tag and Briscoe sends Yuta into a boot from Kyle. Suicide dive to Pac by Briscoe. CHASING THE DRAGON TO YUTA! Froggy Bow! One, two, no! Pac breaks up the pin at 2.999999. Lariat by Ishii to Pac. Claudio is in with European uppercuts to everyone but Kyle rebounds with a knee to the face of Claudio and everyone is down. Uh oh, Moxley’s music hits and here he comes… with Marina Shafir. Moxley paces the ringside area but here’s Orange Cassidy! Moxley thinks better of getting in the ring and both guys are on either side of the ring. Yuta is staring at Cassidy and Kyle rolls him up for two. Kyle locks in the ankl lock on Yuta! Superkick by Pac but Kyle holds on and Ishii sends Pac to the flor with a dropkick! Claudio pulls Yuta to the ropes but Briscoe is here with a spicy dropkick. Kyle pulls Yuta to the middle of the ring but he rolls through. Chaos at ringside and Shafir hits Kyle in the stomach with the briefcase before rolling him in the ring right into a Busaiku Knee. One, two, three.
Winners and STILL AEW World Trios Champions: Death Riders
Rating: ****. Strong main event tonight, which is exactly what you get when you combine anyone from The Conglomeration and The Death Riders. Crowd was hot for the whole thing, all the way through the finish.
Orange Cassidy hits the ring and drops Yuta with an Orange Punch! Moxley attacks Cassidy and its total chaos here as we go off the air.
Final Thoughts: 7.75/10.
