Xbox Is Adding New Options For Uploading & Editing Custom Gamerpics

Microsoft has released patch notes for a new Xbox Insider update, and this one contains some interesting console changes coming from Team Green. We’ve got new Store notification options and controller calibration features, but also some major changes to the way custom gamerpics work.

As detailed in the patch notes and elaborated on by Xbox engineering lead Eden Marie, the process of adding and editing custom gamerpics is now “more consistent”, and you can create them from your own screenshots and achievement art. Also, if you want to upload a totally custom picture, the team has lowered the required image resolution to use that feature.

As we mentioned up at the top, the team has also added a new Xbox Store option that allows users to enable or disable deal notifications for when games get discounted, alongside an option to re-calibrate triggers where users have replaced a controller’s circuit board – which seems like a helpful feature considering it focuses on non-Microsoft controller modifications.

Feel free to check out the direct Xbox Insider link down below for more specific details on all of these changes. For now, the update is live for the Insider program’s Alpha ring – and it will become available for all Xbox users in the coming weeks.
