Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program details leak
As was revealed on Oct. 9th, Nintendo is set to perform a test called the Nintendo Switch Online: Playtest Program, and it’s related to a new feature for the Nintendo Switch Online service. Nintendo didn’t share specifics on what this feature is, but they did ask Switch Online Expansion Pack members to participate in the test.
Hours after Nintendo shared info on how people can sign up to participate, the company also asked those involved in the program to not discuss or disclose the content. The internet was very quick to point out that the chances of every single participant following those rules was slim to none, and now those predictions have come to fruition.
Just today, Nintendo updated the Switch Online: Playtest Program info, and those who made it into the test can start downloading the necessary content. The actual playtest itself doesn’t begin until Oct. 23rd, 2024, but this download came alongside another page of information that detailed what the test is all about. You can probably guess what happened next.
As Nintendo has specifically asked those involved to not share the ins and outs of the Playtest Program, we’ll refrain from offering up the information. That said, we will note that details have started to leak online throughout social media and other corners of the internet. If you’re looking to keep this Playtest a secret, you should be very careful where you spend your time online.
There’s no doubt Nintendo will be going after those leaking information any minute now, but with the way the internet works, it’s unlikely the Big N will be able to put the proverbial cat bag inside its bag.
