Metaphor: ReFantazio Has Sold One Million Copies In Its First Day On Sale
SEGA has claimed that Metaphor: ReFantazio has sold one million copies during its first day on sale.
Speaking in a press release issued today, the publisher revealed that Metaphor: ReFantazio “achieved its global cumulative sales of one million units,” which consist of “the total number of physical unit shipments and downloadable unit sales.”

By comparison, Persona 5 sold 500,000 units during its first month on sale in Japan, and shipped 1.5 million copies during its launch month after it hit the US and Europe.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is out today for PS5, PS4, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Developed by Studio Zero and published by Atlus, Metaphor: ReFantazio takes place in the medieval fantasy realm of the United Kingdom of Euchronia, and picks up after the assassination of its former King.
The game’s protagonist is an orphan the Elda tribe, and a friend of the Prince, who entered a prolonged slumber following an attempt on his life. Your character is then tasked with venturing across the kingdom to drum up support in an effort to take the throne in the Prince’s place.
