Kuro Games’ open-world RPG Wuthering Waves continues to make a splash as it sailed past $150 million in gross mobile revenue in just over four months since launch, according to AppMagic estimates.
The title has made the majority of its mobile spending from players in Asia, with China and Japan each contributing 23% of that $150m sum – remaining neck and neck for some time. South Korea ranks third with a consistent 17% contribution, while the US accounts for 15% of player spending.
While the title has had a highly successful launch, revenue has declined each month since its June highs when it surpassed $60m.
The title accumulated $30m in July, $16.4m in August, and $10.7m in September. It should be noted that the latter figure meant the title still ranked as the 102nd top grossing mobile title worldwide.
It took two months for Wuthering Waves to surpass $100m and a further two to generate $50m.
June 6th remains Wuthering Waves most lucrative day, with $5.5m generated upon the release of Yinlin. The month as a whole saw Kuro Games’ hit make the top three of all mobile games for gacha revenue alongside Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail.

The recent launch of Version 1.3 and the Till the Sea Turns Clear event on September 29th has sparked a resurgence in player spending.
The event has introduced the eighth act of Chapter One, named To the Shore’s End, as well as a high-rarity mythical entity called The Shorekeeper, only obtainable for a limited time.
The Shorekeeper’s restricted availability incentivises players to spend on the gacha while they can, and paired with her base pull rate of 0.8%, helped create a 292% revenue spike on Version 1.3’s launch date.
Across Apple’s App Store and the Google Play Store, the game earned $2.4m on September 29th.
Despite the slowdown in earnings, Wuthering Waves is now a flagship for Kuro Games and helped earn the developer a spot in our Top 50 Mobile Game Makers list, finding success through a post-beta decision to rewrite its narrative and overhaul many in-game elements.
