PS5 Pro Hands-On Report Concludes Sony’s High-End Console ‘Is A Really Good Investment’
Tech wizards Digital Foundry have been getting some hands-on time with the PS5 Pro, and according to Oliver MacKenzie, Sony’s high-end platform is nothing short of a ‘really good investment.’
As previously reported, MacKenzie got hands-on time with numerous games running on PS5 Pro, with some notable titles being F1 24, which offered some surprisingly major improvements, as well as The Last of Us Part 2. However, as an overall conclusion, he reckons the console is more than worth it.
If you value fidelity and you like ray tracing and the higher frame rates of performance modes, PS5 Pro’s a really good investment. There is a conversation to be had between the value of a PS5 Pro and a PC, but for a hassle-free gaming experience delivering high fidelity visuals with no particular issues with updates and incompatibility, PS5 Pro is delivering a really good experience and it’s also fairly favourable in terms of cost.

The PS5 Pro is scheduled for release on November 7, 2024, priced at $699.99/£699.99. Sony’s new system is a high-end version of the standard PS5, which offers more technical muscle under the hood that allow games to benefit from a range of improvements in terms of visual fidelity and frame rate.
One of the major features of the PS5 Pro is the implementation of PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution), which is an AI-powered upscaling feature which is able to boost resolution and add extra frame rates where possible without the need to sacrifice visual fidelity.
