Ballistic Moon Has Reportedly Laid Off Undisclosed Number Of Staff Ahead Of Until Dawn PS5 Launch
Ballistic Moon, the studio behind the upcoming PS5 version of Until Dawn, has reportedly issued a number of redundancies at the company just over a month before the game comes out.
The company hasn’t made any format announcement on the layoffs, but two former developers have come forward on social media to confirm they have been laid off.
One ex-dev, Cassy Cornish, wrote on LinkedIn, “Like many others in this wonderful but turbulent industry, I am sadly being made redundant from my role as a Junior Game Designer at Ballistic Moon.”
Meanwhile, Harry Williams confirmed he had been laid off, writing “After two ex[c]iting years working on the wonderful Until Dawn 2024 at Ballistic Moon, I am unfortunately being made redundant as a Technical Designer. I’ve loved working with everyone at BM and hope I cross paths with members of that family in future projects!”

This year has proven to be incredibly tough for games industry workers, with over 11,000 people having lost their jobs so far. This comes off the back of 2023’s mass layoffs, where thousands of people were also made redundant.
Until Dawn hits PS5 on October 4, 2024.
