European retailers list Wii/DS title MySims as making a return on Switch (UPDATE)

When the Switch first started to take off, players were thinking about the franchises that made sense for the platform. Many though EA would be quick to bring over The Sims, as the franchise seemed like the perfect for for Switch players. Sadly, that never came to be, but rumor has it an offshoot of the Sims franchise could be on the way soon.

For those who were around during the Wii and DS era, you no doubt remember the MySims spin-offs. EA found a cash cow in the MySims titles, which took core elements of The Sims and whittled them down to the basics for a more streamlined and welcoming experience. That MySims experiment paid off so well that EA cranked out countless sequels and varied takes on the MySims brand for years.

While we haven’t seen anything MySims-related in quite some time, it appears EA might be feeling the itch once again. According to multiple European retailers, the original MySims game from the Wii/DS is set to return on the Switch. Retailers show the game as arriving on Nov. 19th, 2024, but details on how this outing differs from the original remain to be seen. It’s also worth noting that EA has made no such announcement about MySims jumping to Switch.

These retailers have to be getting this info from somewhere, and a port of MySims certainly makes sense for Switch. If/when EA confirms this re-release, we’ll make sure to bring you the full details.

UPDATE: If you weren’t convinced by the retailer listings, this latest discovery should do the trick. If you head over to EA’s official website and look at their page for Switch games, the very bottom of the page has been updated with an icon for MySims. Clicking on that icon takes you to a page for The Sims 4, so there’s obviously a hiccup there, but it seems likely the correct link will be swapped in as soon as EA makes an official announcement.
