Why are Mario and Sonic missing the Olympic Games? | Pure Nintendo Podcast E72
This week on the Pure Nintendo Podcast, Jemma and Kirk delve into the current Olympics fever, which highlights that Mario and Sonic are notably absent from this year’s events.
Last week, we discussed our time with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition. This week, we look at a few viewer comments on the game, leading to further discussion on what works and what’s missing.
Meanwhile, Minecraft is pairing up with Tetris in a special DLC event, bringing the two cube-based worlds together for the first time. We also look at the current list of sales on the Switch, and an interesting boardgame based on Shin Megami Tensei.
We’re also playing a few games this week, including SNK Vs. Capcom, along with the updated Star Wars: Hunters. With a new droid known as KAO-S and a new arena set in Darth Vadar’s own castle, there’s a lot of new content to keep players engaged.
We save the best ’til last, though, as Kirk relays his first impressions of Ys X: Nordic. The full game comes out this October, and Kirk was fortunate enough to attend a media event with the developers last week. It’s shaping up to be a terrific entry in the long-running series, and we’ll be covering the full game when it comes out, too.
