NetEase Games’ FPS battle royale Blood Strike has rocketed past 50 million downloads in under a year, almost doubling its install figures since April.
The official Blood Strike Twitter account celebrated the achievement last week and NetEase has confirmed the milestone for us, meaning the shooter hit the 50 million mark just before turning nine months old.
The popular shooter came out of soft launch on October 28th, 2023 with a release in Southeast Asia ahead of its global launch on March 21st, 2024.
The game topped download charts in more than 15 countries including the US at the time, and achieved 30 million installs across all available platforms by the middle of April.
As of July 27th, that number has officially increased from to 50 million, and players can now redeem a thank-you gift in-game to celebrate.
“Blood Strike has reached 50 million downloads! Thank you to our amazing players for all the love and support. We couldn’t have done it without you! Use this Redeem Code to claim a thank-you gift in-game: 5MSTRIKERS,” Blood Strike Official posted on Twitter.
The fastest gunslinger around?
Blood Strike differentiates itself from fellow shooters PUBG: Mobile and Call of Duty: Mobile by focusing on speed as a crucial part of gameplay, opting for quick sessions and fast-paced action that tasks players with not only taking down enemies, but racing to dominate sprawling maps.
“The Battle Royale market is fiercely competitive, filled with mature products and large, well-funded teams constantly releasing new titles,” Blood Strike’s lead game designer Xie shared with us in an interview.
“Our game stands out for three main reasons: the authentic shooting mechanics, the intense pacing of matches, and the progressive, fun gameplay. Plus, the game is well-optimised for various devices and has good compatibility to ensure the players’ smooth gaming experience.”
