Shin Megami Tensei board game launching on Kickstarter Sep. 11th, 2024

Japanese company Icrea has announced that they’ll be launching a Kickstarter campaign for an official Shin Megami Tensei board game. Right now that board game is being referred to simply as “Shin Megami Tensei – The Board Game”, but that title could change before its release. The Kickstarter campaign will kick off on September 11th, 2024.

According to Icrea’s announcement, the game will include 72 detailed demon figures and “highly strategic gameplay”. The core mechanics will be based on concepts from the Shin Megami Tensei series, including Demon Conversation and Demon Fusion. The game will be for between two and four players, and is intended to last approximately three to four hours per session.

We’ll have to wait until the Kickstarter launches to get more details about how the game actually plays. However, if you happen to be in attendance at massive board game convention Gen Con this weekend in Indianapolis, you might be able to catch a glimpse of it there. Icrea will be there from Aug. 1st to Aug. 4th showing off the game’s components in Japan Pavilion Booth No. B270.
