Grand Theft Auto 6 Is Not Going To Be Impacted By The SAG-AFTRA Strike
According to Kodak’s Ethan Gach, Rockstar Games‘ highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 is not going to be impacted by the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
Gach took to X to confirm the news, writing:
NEW: A rep for the game companies involved in the actors strike confirms that GTA 6 is NOT one of the struck projects currently in development. Any SAG-AFTRA performers involved in it (the casting isn’t currently public) are allowed to continue working on the Rockstar game.
While it is unknown what performers are involved in the upcoming crime epic, a representative for the union has revealed that those involved in GTA 6 are allowed to carry on their involvement on Rockstar Games’ latest outing. As previously reported, the strike will commence today after members working on games failed reach a deal over AI protections.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently slated for release in Fall 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, although a concrete release date has yet to be announced. Having said that, Take-Two’s CEO said back in May that it is ‘highly confident‘ in the game’s release window, so hopefully there won’t be any delays.
Rockstar Games has a lot of expectations on the back of GTA 6 considering the monumental success of its predecessor, which has sold over 185 million copies worldwide and was released on three generations of hardware.
