New Dynasty Warriors Origins Details & Gameplay Revealed, Includes Largest Number Of Soldiers In Series’ History

Dynasty Warriors Origins has received a wealth of new details from Koei Tecmo and Omega Force today following the game’s appearance at ChinaJoy 2024.

New footage of the upcoming hack-‘n-slash title was displayed at the PlayStation booth stage event at the event at Shanghai’s Internal Expo Center, which you can see in action below.

Dynasty Warriors Origins will offer a ‘deep interpretation’ of the Three Kingdoms storyline, which delves into ancient Chinese history. The narrative kicks off prior to the Yellow Turban Rebellion, with the game’s protagonist pays a visit to a famine-ravaged village. While here he meets Zhang Jiao and Guan Yu, and team up to battle against the forces of corrupt officials.

Omega Force is promising an “overwhelming sense of realism” across every battlefield, with the game boasting the largest number of soldiers the franchise has seen to date. Enemy forces will cooperate during attacks and are formidable foes, with players having to fight not only with their own skills but also with the backup of allies as you charge forward to clear the way forward.

Away from combat, Dynasty Warriors: Origins displays the vast world of the Three Kingdoms on a continental map, enabling players to choose which battlefield to participate in. Also, players can interact with heroes and walk around freely on their way to the next major battlefield.

Dynasty Warriors Origins is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.
