Fallout: London Developers Want To Bring The Mod To Consoles, But They’d Need Bethesda’s Help
It’s practically core to every Bethesda game that it launches with a long, long list of bugs that are a mix of the hilarious and game-breaking variety, and that modders will fix all these issues and even improve on the games further in the years post-launch.
This time, modders have gone much farther than just fixing or even improving certain aspects. Fallout 4 modders have essentially created a new game with Fallout: London, a whole new Fallout game with its own stories and characters set in London, all built within Fallout 4.
It’s a huge undertaking that the team has spent the better part of the last five years creating, and while it currently only has a PC release planned, the development team would love to try and bring the game to consoles.
In a recent interview with Metro, (spotted by TheGamer) lead developer on the project Dean Carter says the team is more than open to bringing Fallout: London to consoles, but it would need Bethesda to step in and help out.
“What we want is to speak to a decision-maker, because if we could make it a standalone thing with their [Bethesda’s] permission, that means that people on gaming consoles could use it, which they currently can’t.”
Mod support for any game on console has historically been limited, and that’s the case with Fallout 4.Unless Bethesda steps in, it simply won’t be available on consoles and only be available on PC when it launches.
Basically it sounds like someone needs to get Todd Howard and Dean Carter in a room together, so this can all be sorted.
