Dragon Age The Veilguard Praised By Mark Darrah As ‘The Best Dragon Age Game’ He’s Ever Played

Mark Darrah, a former executive producer at BioWare on the Dragon Age franchise, has heaped praise on the latest entry in the series, the upcoming Dragon Age: The Veilguard, stating it’s the ‘best game’ in the series that he’s ever played.

While Darrah announced his departure from BioWare in December 2020, he returned to act as a consultant on Dragon Age The Veilguard last year, and is more than impressed with what he’s seen so far. Speaking during an interview with Game Informer, Darrah had the following to say:

Uncharitably, previous Dragon Age games got to the realm of ‘combat wasn’t too bad.’ In this game, the combat’s actually fun, but it does keep that thread that’s always been there. You have the focus on Rook, on your character, but you still have that control and character coming into the combat experience from other people in the party.

This is really the best Dragon Age game that I’ve ever played. This is the one where we get back to our roots of character-driven storytelling, have really fun combat, and aren’t making compromises.

Recently, the creator of the Dragon Age franchise, David Gaider, has said that it’s not surprising to see how BioWare is handling the game’s romance options in wake of the success of Dragon Age The Veilguard.

Dragon Age The Veilguard launches in Fall 2024 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
