- PC (Microsoft Store)
Game Pass subscribers on Xbox and PC will be able to access Black Ops 6 at launch (October 25) if they are actively subscribed to select Game Pass plans (Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, Game Pass Console). Furthermore, this includes the same preorder benefits as well!
Below are explanations of what Game Pass offers (for the uninitiated), as well as what Black Ops 6 edition each plan of Game Pass grants you access to, along with information on upgrading to the Vault Edition, which offers exceptional added value.
What is Game Pass?
Available to every Xbox and PC player with a Microsoft account, Game Pass is a monthly subscription service that allows you to play new games, as well as allowing you to enjoy hundreds of high-quality games with friends on Console and PC. With games added all the time, there’s always something new to play.
And now, active subscribers to select Game Pass plans can enjoy the same preorder benefits, and same-day game access as those who preorder the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle on Console or pre-purchase the Standard Edition on PC.

Game Pass Plans and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
There are four Game Pass plans you can subscribe to. Here are the Black Ops 6 game elements you can access:
- Game Pass Ultimate: This offers the most flexibility as it allows you to play the Black Ops 6 Campaign as well as the Multiplayer and Zombies online modes on your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles, and on PC. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will have access to the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle on Xbox consoles and the Standard Edition on PC Microsoft Store.
- Game Pass PC: Play the Black Ops 6 Campaign as well as Multiplayer and Zombies online modes on your PC. Game Pass PC subscribers will have access to the Standard Edition on PC Microsoft Store.
- Game Pass Console: Play the Black Ops 6 Campaign only on your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles. Online console multiplayer access (sold separately) is required to play the Multiplayer and Zombies online modes on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One consoles. Game Pass Console subscribers would need to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate or additionally subscribe to Game Pass Core (sold separately) to access these modes. Game Pass Console subscribers will have access to the Digital Cross-Gen Bundle on Xbox consoles.
- Game Pass Core: Game Pass Core includes online console multiplayer access, which is required to play Black Ops 6 online modes (Multiplayer and Zombies) on Xbox consoles, but does not qualify you to access the full game. Also note that all of the benefits of Game Pass Core are included in the Game Pass Ultimate plan.
If you are subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console before Black Ops 6 launches on October 25, you can also gain access to the following preorder benefits:
- Woods Operator Pack (Preorder Benefit)
- Open Beta Early Access (Preorder Benefit)
To access the Woods Operator Pack, subscribers to the three Game Pass plans noted above must log into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Call of Duty: Warzone on the platform where they are an active Game Pass subscriber at some point before October 25th and continue maintaining an active Game Pass subscription to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console. Once granted, subscribers to these plans can immediately use Classic Woods in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III or Call of Duty: Warzone by accessing him in the Operator Menu and will have the ability to unlock the “Zombie Woods” and “Numbers Woods” skins.
For Open Beta Early Access, Game Pass subscribers to the three plans noted above should look out for communications in the future around Open Beta dates. Active subscribers to these plans will be able to play the Open Beta during its Early Access window (Game Pass Console subscribers may need to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate or additionally subscribe to Game Pass Core, sold separately, to play online Open Beta content).
If you aren’t a Game Pass Subscriber, you can start a subscription to an eligible Game Pass plan (Ultimate, PC, or Console) before October 25th and follow the instructions above to gain access to preorder benefits.
Game Pass Subscribers: Open Beta and Launch Plans:
Xbox: Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass Console subscribers can download the Open Beta during its Early Access window, and the full game at launch, from your Xbox console. Game Pass Console subscribers will need to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate or additionally subscribe to Game Pass Core (sold separately) to play online content.
PC: Game Pass Ultimate or Game Pass PC subscribers can download the Open Beta during its Early Access window, and the full game at launch, from the PC Microsoft Store.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Open Beta dates will be announced at a later time.
Game Pass: Vault Edition Upgrade
As a Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console subscriber, you also have the option to upgrade to the Black Ops 6 Vault Edition of the game for $30 U.S. or your regional equivalent (Suggested Retail Price). The Vault Edition upgrade gives players access to all Vault Edition benefits previously detailed in this Blog:
- Hunters vs. Hunted Operator Pack
- Mastercraft Weapon Collection
- GobbleGum Pack
- Black Ops 6 Season 1 Black Cell
Game Pass Unsubscribing and Black Ops 6 Access
If you subsequently unsubscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console without having purchased Black Ops 6, you will lose access to the title, but you can regain access by purchasing Black Ops 6 outright or resubscribing to Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console.
