SMT V: Vengeance greatly reworks the original game’s soundtrack while adding more songs
SMT V: Vengeance is coming to Switch on June 14th, 2024, and it’s going to include an absolute wealth of content over the original release. We’ve already learned that there’s going to be a completely different story path that adds roughly 75 hours of gameplay to the experience, but it turns out we can expect a very different soundtrack as well.
GameSpot had the chance to chat with some of the dev team handling Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, and they were eager to share details on just how the first game’s music is being tweaked for this revamp. Believe it or not, the team says they re-did about 80% of the songs from the first release, but they also added in 20 new battle themes as well. In other words, what you heard last time is going to be majorly reworked, and you’ll also get to enjoy completely fresh tracks as well.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance delivers a full-fledged RPG that can be enjoyed by existing and new fans. At the start of the game, players will choose between two paths: the story told in the original Shin Megami Tensei V, the Canon of Creation, or the brand-new Canon of Vengeance. This dramatic new tale of revenge introduces brand-new characters, an enigmatic cohort of demons called the Qadištu, a new dungeon and a new map to explore. Additionally, the original Shin Megami Tensei V battle system, demon merging and field exploration have been evolved and expanded in this newest entry in the series.
