Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 Release Is Targeting 2027, According To Square Enix

Square Enix’s Yoshinori Kitase has revealed that the story for Final Fantasy VII Part 3 is already done and dusted, and that the team expect the game to be released around 2027, which would coincide with the 30th anniversary of the original Final Fantasy VII.

The game director described how Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was completed in three years, with one year was working on DLC, and that he hopes to achieve that same timeframe with Part 3. That means the game could be out in 2027.

As reported by Audrey on Twitter, who has provided a bevy of details from Japanese source on FFVII Remake, Kitase-san also said that the development team are looking to recording voice work for the third instalment in the Final Fantasy VII Remake project soon.

According to the translation, Kitase is hoping to “deliver an amazing product for Part 3 without having to sacrifice quality over time.” In addition, he also confirmed that the same staff who worked on FFVII Rebirth will be involved in Part 3, and credits them as the reason why Rebirth had such an efficient production timeline.

Previously, Square Enix had revealed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 3 was at roughly the same stage as FFVII Rebirth was when development of the first chapter was complete. Furthermore, legendary Final Fantasy composer Nobuo Uematsu has confirmed that he will compose the main theme for the new title.
