Princess Peach: Showtime! demo drops along with new trailer

Princess Peach: Showtime! is the next big first-party title from Nintendo. Ahead of its March 22 release for the Switch, the Big N has released a free playable demo to whet our appetite.

The demo of this single-player action game shows off two of Peach’s new transformation abilities: Swordfighter Peach and Patissiere Peach. Players can swing, strike, dodge, and counterattack as Swordfighter Peach, slicing and dicing her way across an action-packed stage. Meanwhile, Patissiere Peach is ready to whip up an array of delectable desserts, preventing the Sweet Festival from experiencing a serious sugar crash.

The game’s gimmick revolves around Peach’s many transformations, each of which grants her distinct abilities. She’ll need them, too, as she works with Stella, the guardian of Sparkle Theatre, to rid the area of the dastardly Grape and the Sour Bunch.

The demo coincides with a new overview trailer, highlighting the stunning moves we can expect to see from Peach along her fabulous journey. We also see new info on the game’s customization options, adding extra flair to Peach’s dress and Stella’s ribbon. Check out the trailer below.

Princess Peach: Showtime! is now available for pre-order at select retailers, at Nintendo.com and in Nintendo eShop at a suggested retail price of $59.99. And coinciding with the release of the game on March 22, a set of pastel pink Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers will be available at select retailers and My Nintendo Store at a suggested retail price of $79.99.
