Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Confirms Cid And Vincent Won’t Feature In Battle As Guest Characters

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Naoki Hamaguchi has revealed that Cid and Vincent won’t actually be fighting with you in the upcoming PS5 sequel, despite some confusion regarding on how the pair will function in the game.

Hamaguchi-san previously indicated that Vincent would be an “accompanying character to the party” similar to how Red XIII worked in Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, speaking in a recent interview with IGN, he clarified that both Cid and Vincent wouldn’t be getting their hands dirty, although they will be featured in the game nonetheless.

Both Cid and Vincent are accompanying the party on their journey, and they do help out, but they aren’t actually featuring in battle as guest characters. So they’re not really going to be involved in your fight.
