CDPR is winding down support for Cyberpunk 2077 after more than three years on the market, and in that time the game has come a long way to say the least. The PS4 and Xbox One versions launched in December 2020 with multiple performance issues, many of which were patched in post-launch fixes. However, it wasn’t until the arrival of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in February 2022 that the console versions were available in a polished state.
Last September, CDPR launched the game’s first and only expansion, Phantom Liberty, which arrived alongside a major Cyberpunk 2077 update featuring a new progression system and various quality-of-life improvements.
Looking ahead, the studio is now moving to the Cyberpunk 2077, known as Project Orion, which is currently in the conceptual stage. Earlier this week, it was reported that CDPR is considering multiplayer elements for the game, but wouldn’t go into any details.
Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 25 million copies worldwide as of October 2023, and is available for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
