Frogwares Is Now The Sole Publisher Of The Sinking City Across All Platforms
The Sinking City is an H.P. Lovecraft inspired detective game, and its developer Frogwares can now finally close a complicated chapter that at one point resulted in The Sinking City being de-listed from digital storefronts.
In a statement published to Twitter, Frogwares announced that it is now the “sole publisher” of The Sinking City on across all platforms.
“We’re happy to finally put this whole thing behind us, and we look forward to sharing more news about the future of the franchise very soon.” said Frogwares.
A legal battle between the game’s original licensee has been ongoing since 2019, and now has finally been concluded with Frogwares winning out as the sole publisher.
This means there will be a new version of the game available for players to purchase, and it also means that there will be some issues current players will need to be aware of.
Specifically that save files from the current version of the game will not be compatible with the new version. However the old version will still be available for players that aren’t yet finished playing through the game, and Frogwares encourages players to try and finish their current playthroughs.
The old version will still be up for players to up until February 28, 2024, and while Frogwares hasn’t specified when the new version will be up, it’ll likely be around the time the old version gets taken down.
“We want to thank you all for your support and patience, and we look forward to sharing more news about the future of The Sinking City very soon.”
