PS5 And PS4 Will No Longer Support Twitter/X Integration As Of Next Week

PS5 and PS4 consoles will no longer support Twitter/X integration as of November 13, 2023 which is just a week away at time of writing.

A warning message appearing to players on their PS5 console tells them that starting next week, “integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles.”

The message continues, “This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies and other gameplay related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so.)”

There’s no official word on why the integration will be removed, though it’s not exactly difficult to determine that Elon Musk’s raising of prices for Twitter integration, no matter the platform has caused Sony to make a decision.

Clearly, Sony concluded that whatever they were paying to keep Twitter integration working on every PS5 and PS4 console out there just wasn’t worth it. An official statement explaining the reasoning though has yet to surface.
