Genshin Impact Update 4.2 Launches November 8; Features 2 New Regions & Climax Of Fontaine’s Main Storyline
Developer miHoYo has announced that Genshin Impact update 4.2 will drop on November 8, 2023 and will bring about the conclusion to the main story for Fontaine.
Known as Masquerade of the Guilty, the update will expand Fontaine’s map to the Erinnyes Forest and Morte Region, and will continue the World Quest The Narzissenkreuz Adventure in the Tower of Ipsissimus, unveiling the mysteries of the Primordial Sea.
Meanwhile, two major Fontaine figures will be playable in the new Genshin Impact update. First is the Hyrdo Archon Furina, who joins the fray as a five-star Hydro sword user, while reporter Charlotte is available as a four-star Cryo catalyst wielder. Furina has a graceful combat style and catch switch between a pair of Arkhe alignments, while her Elemental Burst offers both damage and a healing bonus to the whole team.
Charlotte meanwhile combines photography with combat using her custom Kamera Monsieur Verite, and can also provide healing and Cryo damage out in the field.

More events will be arriving with special mini-games and exclusive bonuses. Thelxie, the clockwork penguin, will require upgrades which will be made possible by connecting circuits, collecting colorful shells or corals, or through combat. A new Fungi event will also offer players an opportunity to train them and command them to take down powerful enemies. Last but not least, Fontaine will host its very own photography event which will offer a special Kamera gadget, the Special Analysis Zoom Lens.
