“It Doesn’t Feel Real”; Becky Lynch Says “The Future Is Bright”
Lyra Valkyria’s emotional response to winning the NXT Women’s Championship was a poignant moment in the aftermath of her main event victory on NXT Halloween Havoc Night One, where she defeated Becky Lynch to claim her first WWE title.
In an NXT Digital Exclusive, she was asked to express the significance of her achievement. Valkyria shared,
“It doesn’t feel real. I really feel like I can’t put it into words. When I was out there, it felt like time was standing still, and everything connected. It just felt like everything I’ve worked for for nine years now all came together. I felt on top of the world because it felt like no decision I’ve ever made has been bad because it all led to this. I think that I would live my entire life again just to feel what I felt holding this title up out there. I think in what we do, we would work our whole careers in the hopes of feeling what I feel right now, even once. I think I’ll be living in that moment for another nine years. I can’t explain how good it feels right now to be your NXT Women’s Champion.”
Valkyria’s win tonight brings a close to Becky Lynch’s incredible NXT stint. After having accomplished pretty much everything in WWE, Lynch finally captured the NXT Women’s Championship last month. She pulled double duty on Raw and NXT these past few weeks, revitalizing the women’s divisions on both brands and helping young female Superstars step up with her open challenges.
Fellow Irish lass Lyra Valkyria’s win tonight seems to have established a new star in NXT, with Lynch having tweeted “the future is bright” following her title loss.
Moreover, following tonight’s tease, Lynch’s next program may very well be with Jade Cargill.
